Who I am
I’m Rue, a young designer based in the UK, and Citrues is my creative space. From a young age, I’ve been drawn to the way visuals, shapes, and colours can communicate ideas and emotions without words. Design, for me, isn’t just a skill, it’s a way of observing the world and translating that observation into something tangible, meaningful, and memorable.
How Travel Shaped Me
Growing up travelling exposed me to a wide variety of cultures, aesthetics, and approaches to everyday life. From bustling markets to quiet streets, I noticed how different countries tell stories through objects, packaging, and visual design. These experiences sparked my love for all shapes of design, showing me that every detail carries meaning and that design is deeply tied to culture and context.
Learning From Scratch
I began learning design at a very young age, mostly self taught with help from my family. I explored software, experimented with layouts, and taught myself everything from the ground up. Over the past five years, I’ve built a foundation of professional experience and technical skill, but the curiosity and joy of discovery remain central to my approach.
My Influences
I’ve always grown up loving music, film, and travel. They’re not just hobbies to me, they’re a big part of how I see the world and how I approach design. In my free time, you’ll find me engaging in these things, and these experiences from it constantly shape the way I think about mood, pacing, and storytelling. They teach me how to notice small details, feel atmosphere, and translate emotion into visuals.
What I do
At Citrues, I focus on crafting design that balances strategy, aesthetics, and storytelling. From packaging and brand identities to websites and digital experiences, my goal is to create work that connects with people.. Every project is approached with care, curiosity, and attention to detail.
I believe design should be honest, thoughtful, and culturally aware. Citrues is more than just a studio, it’s a space where ideas and relationships grow, visuals are refined, and design is perfected.
